Before I trusted Christ
I was successful by the standards of the world. Nice cars, big house and so on, but I did not know Christ. I was very materialistic and selfish. Money and stguff were my focus. Even more so than my 2 children or m y wife. No on could tell me anything. I owned several businesses, and when money got slow, I began forging checks and eventually embezzled money. Whatever it took, I did it to fund my ego, until I was arrested.
How I trusted Christ
After being arrested and everything blowing up in my face, I really hit bottom. I lost my house and cars and company. But most importantly, I lost my family. My wife asked for a divorce and that night I tried to commit suicide. I was ashamed and did not want to go to prison. Hanging myself failed because the sheet broke, and I fell and busted my head. I realized I didnt like me, but I did not want to die. Satan wanted me to die. That night, I committed my life to Christ.
Since I've trusted Christ
Since then, I have studied and tried to be the best student and Christian I can be. I have nearly completed my Associates Degree in Religious studies and I am taking more credit courses through Seminary Extension. Two years later, I have decided through much prayer to pursue my doctorate in Christian counselling. I specifically want to work with addiction recovery programs.
