Zechariah was a prophet who received visions from the Lord in a various ways.

For example, the Lord reached Zechariah as he dreamed of colored horses and angels. The angels deliver a hopeful message, Zehariah 1:17 "Proclaim further: This is what the Lord Almight says: My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem." God uses imagery and visions to share prophecy with Zechariah as well.
